As you probably all know, I have been a huge fan of the DS ever since it first came out. The releases definitely started out slow, but I feel that it has been proven the DS has a lot to offer to both developers and gamers creatively. It's amazing the possibilities in that little 120 dollar handheld. What I'm wondering is, who can suggest some games. I mean, I've played near all the system has to offer. Right now I'm playing: Drawn to Life, Spanish Coach, Brain Age, Taiko no Tatsuijin (drum game), Ouendan 1 and 2 (already beaten them before), Nervous Brickdown, Contra 4. Believe it or not, I think my favorite DS game is probably the overlooked early attempt called Pac'N Roll. It's extremely underestimated, but a great game. Games I've already played: Brothers in Arms DS Bubble Bobble Call of Duty 4 DSDoom (homebrew that runs any WAD) Daigasso Band Brothers (tried, too difficult) Dead N Furious (AKA Touch the Dead, really fun arcade style shooter using stylus) Dementium Diddy Kong Racing Electroplankton (boring and pointless) Elite Beat Agents FFIII (don't care much for RPGs) Game and Watch Collection (rare N Club Japan game, pretty interesting) Garfield platformer (how lame) Geometry Wars Galaxies Goldeneye (pretty fun, unique control scheme) Gunpey DS (tried to follow, couldn't really) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (battle system is so old and rudimentary) Honeycomb Beat (LOVE THIS PUZZLE GAME) Hotel Dusk Jump Ultimate Superstars (card system confusing since its in Japanese) Kirby - Canvas Curse (fun) Kirby Squeak Squad (EXTREMELY enjoyable platformer, advances the Kirby series magnificently, story and ending so frustratingly pointless, though, you spend the entire game searching for strawberry shortcake and it ends up being gone, you never find it lol) Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Lego Star Wars II (liked it, good graphics, but the glitches got so bad that I ended up not being able to finish it because Han would slide under a platformer and slide back and forth on the ceiling of it. irritating) Lifesigns (focused more on story than Trauma Center, very rewarding, concepts of love, family, must of had great writers) Lost in Blue (confusing) Magnetica Mario Hoops (later traded in) Mario Kart Mario Party DS (very very fun, and this is coming from someone who traditionally hates Mario Party) Mario VS Donkey Kong 2 (very fun) Mario and Luigi 2 Metios (didn't like it) Metroid Prime Hunters Namco Museum DS New Super Mario Bros Nintendogs (lame waste of time) Pac Pix (or whatever it's called, it sucked) Phoenix Wright (finished first, never finished second) Planet Puzzle League (fun) Resident Evil: Deadly Silence Sonic Rush and Adventure Spider-Man games (3 was pretty good, Ultimate Spider-Man had irritating touch controls for Venom) Star Fox Command (not my bag, battle system seemed archaic, less advanced than N64) Star Wars: Lethal Alliance (interesting for a DS platformer, but never finished it) Star Wars EP III (fairly cool beat em up) Super Mario 64 DS Super Princess Peach (crap) TMNT (bizarre direction, especially in the jumping mechanism) Tenchu Dark Secret (what a piece of shit) Tetris DS Time Ace (interesting flyer) Touch Detective (interesting but slowly paced) Transformers (uninteresting platforming) Trauma Center (extremely difficult, but rewarding) Ultimate Mortal Kombat Viewtiful Joe (annoying switch between buttons and touch) Wario: Master of Disguise Warioware Touched YGO Nightmare Troubadour (used to play, don't anymore) Yoshi's Island DS Yoshi Touch and Go (sucks) What DS games do you like, and what might you suggest? I've played ALOT of DS games, probably more than that, I just skimmed the ROM list to compile that. Last edited by Mr Owen; January 31st, 2008 at 08:55 PM. |

I certainly haven't played that many Lost in blue: didn't like it. Megaman ZX was good, if you like platformers i think you'll like it, I think it involves some RPGing too. Trauma center was hard as hell, but good game nonetheless, very original IMO. the last ones I played were Pokemon diamond and Phoenix Wright: Justice for all. I played mostly because I was on my trip to and back from Brazil, but when im home I'd rather play Wii.

I buy what I can, but I also download games onto a flashcart. Those are just games I've played, what I own is less than half that. I own maybe 10-15 games, but whenever I find myself fortunate enough financially I buy games I have already played that I feel were good enough to warrant purchase. I plan to buy Pac'N Roll, Warioware Touched, Lifesigns and some other stuff when I can. I had a friend who was very into Megaman and always tried to get me, but I never liked the ones that were RPGs in that school or whatever. I do, however love the SNES ones and especially the Zero ones from GBC and GBA. I played all the Zeros, and Megaman Xtremes. |

Well yeah, flashcarts are a very good inversion. I have a R4, and most of the games I have are thanks to that, mostly are idiotic games my brother downloaded though, lol he has no taste for choosing games. (he randomly downloaded them) I've never been very fond of the Wario games, and im not sure about the other 2. I'm hoping a game from the Fire Emblem series will come out for the DS, then im sure i'll play alot. I'm actually playing Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance on my wii, and it's pretty good.

I've overall lost interest in the DS, it fails to tweak my interest anymore. The wii in my opinion is much better than the DS, game developers are just not using it in the most innovative ways possible, they fail to see past the conventional pointing and motion possibilities. Overall I can barely even play new DS games anymore. Shit i love zelda, and i was about to play phantom hourglass for the first time yesterday, I got to the save screen and i was like screw it.

Phantom Hourglass is a fantastic game and well worth playing. I played it when it first came out in Japanese and then later bought it and the deluxe guide and replayed it. The DS, to me, interests more than the Wii because of the adult story driven games I've seen on it. Another game I forgot to add which was a great detective game was Hotel Dusk. I'll edit my list.

I love DS more than my wii atm (he says while typing this on his wii), and I'm in the mood for a long, good Rpgish type game where I can level my char. up. I got all 493 on pokemon boxed in my storage system (took forever) and I are hungry for anotherz rpg. Any suggestions? |

I'm really enjoying my DS with my R4 right now, and I know I will for as long as the DS is making games. As soon as something new pops up, I can get it and play it the very same day. As for RPGs there is Heroes of Mana, I heard that's pretty cool.

| The Magical Panda | Ooooh god.. I thought this game was kind've annoying. Going back, coming back, going back to same places just to make the game seem so much longer than it is. I thought it would be like any other game in the beginning.. like 3 mins of story. This game had like what? 2 hours of story line in the beginning. I like the game. But I thought it was just somewhat annoying, thinking about all the crap I had to go through just to beat the darn thing. XD But then again, what game isn't like that? (please don't quote me saying what games aren't like this one.. : P kthxbye)
